If you are scratching your head about the new library home page and are not sure how to find things in the library catalogue then we have designed a quick tutorial to help out. It should only take a couple of minutes and is designed to give a very brief overview of a couple of its features.
QUOSA helps you to quickly retrieve full text articles (PDFs or HTML) and organize them in your QUOSA library. Every word in the full text is indexed so you can quickly search the library of PDFs or other files. Search terms are highlighted for fast perusal. A “Document Summary” pane allows you to go directly to passages of interest in the full text.
QUOSA is integrated with Referencing Software. With one click put the references in EndNote or RefWorks which then links back to the PDF or file in QUOSA.
QUOSA works with PubMed, Web of Knowledge databases, Scopus and Ovid databases.
This is a pilot study until end 2008.
For more information please see:

Or contact Dentistry Library staff.
Essentials of Dental Radiography for Dental Assistants and Hygienists - 8th Ed. (2007) and Ingle’s Endodontics - 6th Ed. (2008) are now both available electronically in fulltext.
Just search the Library catalogue by title and you will see a link which says “Online via Stat!Ref”. Follow the prompts to access the books.
If you are using Vista, you will probably be having problems downloading filters (e.g. PubMed filter) and styles (UQ Australian Dental Journal style). Please check the following link: http://www.library.uq.edu.au/endnote/vista_filters.html
This page gives instructions on how to save the styles and filters.
The Oxford Handbook of Clinical Dentistry (4th ed) is now available in fulltext electronically. Just go to the Library Catalogue and type in the title. Follow the links from the Online link via Stat!Ref.
