Safe Work Australia Week 2009 Display

saftey weekNational Safe Work Australia Week is held annually in October to focus attention on workplace safety. The week aims to encourage all working Australians to get involved in, and concentrate on, safety in their workplace to reduce death, injury and disease. Safe Work Australia Week is a key initiative of Safe Work Australia. Now in its fifth year, the week will be celebrated from 25 - 31 October 2009.

Australian Engineering Week Display

national engineering week Australian Engineering Week (AEW) 3 - 7 August 2009, is a public awareness and education campaign that aims to highlight the role and achievements of the engineering profession in Australia, and to promote engineering as the career of choice. Events held during the week are aimed at everyone from school and tertiary students, teachers and parents, to qualified engineers.

UQ Student Exchange allows students to develop new skills and broaden professional relationships. Pamphlets and brochures are available providing students with more information about international universities and study opportunities. IYA2009 Display

picIYA2The International Year of Astronomy 2009 is a global effort initiated by the International Astronomical Union (IAU) and UNESCO to help the citizens of the world rediscover their place in the Universe through the day- and night-time sky, and thereby engage a personal sense of wonder and discovery. picIYA1To celebrate IYA2009 a display has been mounted for the month of April in the DHPSE Library Foyer, building no.50. The display contains Astral photography and information about some of the exciting research being carried out at U.Q. kindly donated by Prof Michael Drinkwater and
Dr Kevin Pimbblet.
