EndNote Express workshop

EndNote training will be held in the Dorothy Hill Physical Sciences and Engineering Library:

Thursday 10 December
10am - 12noon

In the workshop you will learn how to:

  1. Setup an EndNote library and import references from physical sciences and engineering databases e.g. Web of Science.
  2. Work with EndNote and Word to write papers and create bibliographies.

Reaxys database training at UQ

Find out how to search Reaxys from an expert! Reaxys is Elsevier’s new research system allowing easy web access to the experimental chemical and reaction data found in Beilstein, Gmelin and Patent Chemistry databases.

Dr Yin Ping, Elsevier’s specialist trainer in the database Reaxys, will be running a training session here at Uni of Qld.

  • When: Monday 31 August, 10.00 -12.00
  • Where: Training Room, Level 2, Dorothy Hill Physical Sciences & Engineering Library

The workshop will be suitable to both new and experienced users of Reaxys and is open to all academics, researchers and students. There is no need to register.

Patents are a valuable source of technical information for researchers. Patents can provide an insight into research directions and inventions described in the patent literature are often not located elsewhere. Citation databases training session

    Refworks! Use the web for referencing

    RefWorks is web-based referencing software that enables you to:

    • Organize your research
    • Include citations while you write your paper
    • Import references from many data sources
    • Create bibliographies (reference lists)

    RefWorks has advantages over EndNote. It is available on the Internet and does not require the installation of software. RefWorks is recommended for undergraduate students especially for team based project reports.

    Training will be held in the Dorothy Hill Physical Sciences and Engineering Library: Monday 20 April, 2-3pm

    Bookings can be made online, however, you can also come to this workshop without booking! Please ask at the Information Desk in the Library if any queries.
