Knovel Trial

The Library is trialling the Knovel scientific & engineering databaseswhich covers over 1100 essential reference books and databases by subject.

Direct export from IEEE Xplore to RefWorks

IEEE Explore now offers direct export to RefWorks. All the references come in with the “Generic” reference type so will need some editing.

Z Journals location and addition of books from Ipswich

You may notice books being moved about on Level 3.

  • The “Z” journals will now be located after the theses (THE Collection)
  • Around 800 books previously in the Ipswich Library are being integrated into the DHPSE collection.

Biology Image Database Trial

On trial until 20th March, 2008, the Biology Image Library is an online collection of images, movies, illustrations and animations across biology and biomedicine, for use in education and research. The subjects covered are:

  • Development Biology
  • Histology & Pathology
  • Immunology
  • Microbiology & Parasitology
  • Molecular & Cellular Biology
  • Neuroscience
  • Plant Biologyla

You can download as much material as you want for non-commercial purposes, such as for use in lectures or seminars. Some images in the library are in the public domain and you are free to use this material as you wish. In other cases, the Biology Image Library may be able to sell you commercial use rights to an image or direct you to the copyright holder to obtain these rights.
