OUP Press short film competition - win $1000

Oxford University Press are seeking submissions for their Connecting with Law short film competition.
There are 3 prizes on offer - one of $1000 and two of $200.
To enter, students have to create a 2 minute film about Australian law or the study of law.
The competition closes on 15th August 2008.

Change to Law Library opening hours - Queen’s Birthday Public Holiday

9th June 2008 is the Queen’s Birthday Public Holiday.
In order to assist Law students with exams scheduled at 2.30 on 9th June, the Law Library will open 9am-2pm on this day.
Other libraries on the St Lucia campus will be open at other times of the day.

Laptop recharge lockers now available

Finding Journal Articles and Case Law Classes

The Law Library will be running a couple of lunch time legal research classes. The first one will be on finding journal articles and will be held straight after Easter in eZone 1 on Tuesday 25th at 12pm. The second will be on finding case law and will be held a week later on Tuesday 1st April also in eZone 1 at 12pm. The sessions will run for approximately 45min so if you’d like to brush up on some skills in finding journal articles or case law do come along.

Need to return a book?

The returns chute just outside the Law Library has been upgraded.
Books returned there will automatically be removed from your library record. You can also get a receipt with a record of the items you’ve returned.
And it’s open all the time, so you don’t have to come in to the Library if you only want to return items.

New lockable study desks

There are now 13 lockable study desks located on Level 4 of the Law Library. These may be booked online via the Facilities Booking System.

Recarpeting and renovations

New carpet is currently being installed on Level 4 of the Library. This will limit the study space available on this Level over the next few days.

Renovations are continuing on Level 2.

Law Library renovations

Please note that renovations will start in the Law Library on 10th December. Initially, the work will be concentrated on Level 2 in the Loans Desk area. The Loans Desk and some PCs on Level 2 will be relocated during this period.

Whilst every effort will be made to keep disruption to a minimum, there may be some intermittent noise and dust.
