New Booking System

Rooms

As of Monday the 29th of June the library has a new booking system which is accessible from the Library’s home page.

There are some minor changes which apply to patrons of the Law Library.

• Keys are no longer available for the group study rooms in the Law Library. You will still need to book these rooms online in advance. Make sure that you do not leave any personal belongings unattended in these rooms.
• You can now take single study room, locker and lockable desk keys outside of the library for a short period. You no longer need to leave them at the loans desk.

You can make bookings 1 week in advance, with a maximum of 6 bookings at any one time. However, please note that you are limited to having only 3 bookings of the one resource (eg. single study room) at the one time.

The maximum booking length has remained the same.

Please remember to return keys through the key returns chute at the front desk. But be sure to return the keys to the desk on time, late fees do apply!

UQ Open Day Extended Hours

Monday, July 27th, 2009

The Law Library will be open from 9:00AM to 5:00 PM this Sunday the 2nd of August for the UQ Open Day.

At 11:30AM and and 1:30PM Mooting in Style demonstrations will be held in the Moot Court which is situated on Level 2 in the Library.

International Law Reports now online !

The International Law Reports are now available online as well as in print. Follow the link from the Library catalogue

International Law Reports report in English decisions of international courts and arbitrators as well as judgments of national courts. They covers all significant cases of public international law from 1919 to the present day.

Orientation Week Tours

Locate services, discover information, and find your way through Law library! Every student who goes on a tour will receive a free $2 voucher for their smartcard.

During O-week, Library Tours in the law library will be on
Wednesday 22 July: 10 am or 2 pm
Thursday 23 July: 10 am or 2 pm
Friday 24 July: 10 am or 2 pm

Tours take 30-45 minutes and commence in the library foyer, near the loans desk.

Otherwise, let you mouse do the walking and take a virtual tour.

UQ Maritime Moot Team

Congratulations to Alexander McKinnon, Lauren Humphrey, Alex Molloy, and Kristen Price who defeated Universitas Indonesia in the grand final of the 10th International Maritime Law Arbitration Moot held at the University of Queensland. Congratulations also to the team for winning the Best Written Memo for the Claimant Award and to Kristen Price who was ranked second in the Best Speaker in the Finals award.
