EndNote Training at Gatton

EndNote is an advanced referencing product and is a vital part of the researchers’ skill set. It can perform a wide range of referencing tasks, and there are extensive possibilities for the advanced user to customise the software to individual needs.

EndNote Part 1 includes setting up and importing references into your EndNote Library.
EndNote Part 2 covers creating a list of references, and using EndNote with Word to insert citations and create a bibliography.

Researchers and Postgraduates Information Discovery

Postgraduate students are encouraged to come to RAPID (Researchers & Postgraduates Information Discovery) sessions in the Library. RAPID is a flexibly delivered information skills course developed by the UQ Library for postgraduates and researchers. Included in the Rapid sessions is EndNote training.

RAPID 1: 25th July 2008 - 10am eZone 1
RAPID 2: 1st August 2008 - 10am eZone 1
RAPID 3: 8th August 2008 - 10am eZone 1

Library staff recommend you attend all three RAPID sessions as they are designed to develop your information seeking skills in a structured format.

EndNote Training

Find out how to set up your own EndNote library, how to import records after searching databases or the library catalogue and use EndNote to write papers and bibliographies.

EndNote is a bibliographic software most suited for research and postgraduate academic output.

Gatton Library holds EndNote training immediately following its RAPID sessions. It is important you attend all the EndNote sessions in the order indicated to gain the most from the training.

EndNote X1 available

The latest version of EndNote, EndNote X1, is available for download from the Library’s website on the Referencing Software and Guides page. CDs containing EndNote X1 are available from the AskIT desk.

EndNote X1 allows you to create groups to view and manage subsets of references, and each library can have up to 500 groups. You can find out more about the new features by visiting the EndNote X1 Information page.

EndNote X1 is compatible with Windows Vista and Word 2007. The 2008 RAPID training program will include EndNote X1 training.
