Late nights are back again!

Tuesday, July 22nd, 2008
Late Nights at the Library Due to the great success we had last semester with keeping the library open until midnight, and the fact that we might well face a student revolt if we didn’t, we will be continuing with the Midnight openings at the Biological Sciences Library for 2nd semester 2008.
So feel free to come in and make use of the libraries facilities until the wee hours.

A quick note, you cannot book a group room after 9:00pm so if a room is free simply wander in and grab it.

Biol sciences library opens to midnight!

Wednesday, April 23rd, 2008

In response to requests from Library users, the Library will run a pilot of extended hours in one of its branches during 2008. The Biological Sciences Library will remain open until midnight Monday-Friday, as a pilot program during 2008, beginning on 3 March. The pilot will run during semesters 1 and 2 and will be evaluated at the end of the year to determine whether it is to continue. All Library users are welcome to take advantage of this new service.

The Library will operate as usual until 9pm Monday-Thursday and until 5pm on Friday, with Library staff available for assistance and advice. After these times, security will take over the building and remain on site until closing at midnight. Users will have access to all levels of the building and to computers, group rooms, printer/copiers and the autoloan machines to borrow from the BSL collection. There may be some restrictions on use of material from the High Use Collection and laptops will not be available for loan during the extended hours.

If you have any comments about our new opening hours we would love to hear from you!

Happy New Year

Thursday, January 3rd, 2008

Welcome back! You can tell the holidays are over when library staff spend time trying to untangle metres of Christmas lights! It’s a hard job but thankfully I was only a spectator…..

For those of you who are keen to get back into the study groove, please refer to our latest opening hours. These hours are somewhat different to our normal semester opening hours. Happy studying everyone and best of luck for 2008!

Easter Break!

Thursday, April 5th, 2007

I - for one - thought we’d never make it in one piece to the Easter break. At least, not with our sanity still intact. And yet, here we are! And we all seem relatively sane *eye dart* Well, most of us ;)

So, for those who have also been counting down to the break, hurrah! It’s here. Go-have-fun!

For those who are planning to catch up over the break or just can’t get enough of us…..

The library will be opened on Sunday from 12-5pm. Our regular opening hours will kick in again on Tuesday, 10th April.
