Our EndNote training sessions are proving very popular this semester. We are all booked up for April but have some more sessions scheduled for May, June and July. These sessions will cover use of the latest version of EndNote (X2.0.1) and will be held in eZone 1 (Level 2) on the following days and times -

Wednesday May 13 - 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm
Friday May 29 - 9:00 am to 12:00 noon
Wednesday June 10 - 9:00 am to 12:00 noon
Monday June 22 - 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm
Monday July 6 - 9.00 am to 12.00 noon

Then come and see us at the Librarian Help Desk on Level 2 of the Biological Sciences Library. Between the hours of 10am - 3pm and 5pm - 7pm (weekdays) and 9am - 5pm on Sundays, a librarian will be at the Help Desk ready to assist you with finding information for your assignments and research projects. Outside these hours (i.e. 7.30 am - 10am and 3pm - 5pm weekdays) a librarian can be contacted by ringing extension 63688 (a phone is situated next to the Librarian Help Desk). So if you’re having trouble with your studies, don’t suffer in silence. Ask us for help - we don’t bite……seriously!

Looking around the library today it’s very obvious that Semester 1 has well and truly begun. People, people everywhere and hardly a computer to spare! So now would be a good time to remind you that the opening hours for the Biological Sciences Library have changed from last year.

The major change is that the Biological Sciences Library is no longer open on Saturdays. However, there are other libraries on the St Lucia campus (eg Dorothy Hill Physical Sciences & Engineering Library and the Social Sciences & Humanities Library) that are open from 9am - 5pm on Saturdays. As with last year, the Biological Sciences Library is open from 9am - 5pm on Sundays. This change has been necessary to ensure we operate within our staffing budget.

The good news is that the library is still open until midnight on weekdays. Library staff will be present in the library from 7.30am - 7pm (Mondays - Thursdays) and 7.30am - 5pm (Fridays). Outside these hours, the library will be staffed by security personnel.
